US Rookies Wrap It Up in New Zealand

The 2010-11 U.S. Snowboarding Rookie crew wrapped up its nearly month long stay in New Zealand recently. During their time in the Southern Hemisphere, the rookies competed in two contests, the Burton New Zealand Open and the 2010 FIS Snowboard Junior World Championships, and managed to get some quality riding time in between the events at Cardrona and Snow Park. read more

The Southern Hemisphere leg of the Swatch TTR World Tour moves on to Australia next week, where the 4Star Stylewars competition will take place at Falls Creek from August 23rd to the 25th, 2010. Podladtchikov, Clark Take Burton NZ Open Halfpipe

The final day of the 5Star Burton New Zealand Open went off yesterday, featuring the men's and women's halfpipe finals at Cardrona Alpine Resort. The women took to the pipe first and Kelly Clark (USA) dominated the field for the second consecutive year, finishing in first place. The men's competition kicked off after the women and in the end it was Louri Podladtchikov (SUI) who rose to the top and took home the title. read more

Slopestyle Finals at the Burton NZ Open

The Burton New Zealand Open Slopestyle finals took place yesterday at Cardrona Alpine Resort with Burton rider Christian Haller (SUI) taking first place in the men's event and Jamie Anderson (USA) winning the women's competition. Haller and Anderson both walked away NZ $6,000 richer for their performance on the challenging Slopestyle course, which was even more tricky with today's variable weather conditions. read more
